We are going to explore a topic that is both financially critical and often overlooked until it’s too late—estate planning for residential rental property.

Whether you own or advise individuals with a single-family rental or a portfolio of units, rental real estate is a powerful wealth-building asset. But without a clear, strategic estate plan, that same asset can become a source of legal complications, family conflict, and unintended tax burdens at death or incapacity.
Our goal is to help you think proactively about how to protect rental property, ensure smooth transfer of ownership, minimize tax exposure, and—most importantly—honor long-term intentions.
By the end of this session, you will be aware of complications and unique challenges that arise when a residential rental property will be/is part of an estate, particularly because of legal obligations and restrictions.
