Join us for an overview of both the income attribution rules and the TOSI rules, taking into account more recent Canada Revenue Agency tax interpretations and federal tax changes. There are a number of existing and new planning opportunities that are available to facilitate the splitting of income between family members and business owners.

Kevin is the Tax Advisor for the Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting (CALU). He has written and spoken extensively on taxation and estate planning topics. He is the author of the best-selling consumer book entitled The Essential Canadian Guide to Estate Planning (3rd Edition) as well as The Essential Canadian Tax Guide Series on Insured Buy-Sell Arrangements, Life Insurance Transfers and Income Splitting Planning (2nd Edition) (available on Amazon.ca).

Kevin is the Editor-in-Chief of the CALU Report and a contributes articles for Advisor.ca and Insurance Planning (Thomson Reuters). He is frequently interviewed and quoted in a number of financial publications on issues relating to tax and estate planning including the Globe and Mail. 

Kevin is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, Canadian Bar Association and the Society for Tax and Estate Practitioners.
