Do you want to understand your client's behaviours and choices better? Very few people get to fund a legacy - but most are busy trying to plan how to get at least 25 years out of their retirement savings. We are all coming off the shared experience of the pandemic and investors are experiencing common needs and goals.

Often client expectations are misaligned with what they can do and retirement security is a concern.  We will look to the Global Retirement Index and the Individual Investor Report to explain trends for risk tolerance, estate planning, Millennials turning 40, and service demands on advisors.

Dave Goodsell is executive director of the Natixis Center for Investor Insight, a research program dedicated to the analysis and reporting of issues and trends important to investors, their financial professionals, money managers, employers, governments and policymakers.

Goodsell leads global thought leadership initiatives for Natixis Investment Managers, one of the 20 largest asset managers in the world. In this role, he oversees a team of independent and affiliated researchers, analysts and writers who track major developments across the markets, economy and investing spectrum to understand attitudes and perceptions influencing the decisions of individual investors, financial professionals, consultants and institutional decision makers.

Under Goodsell’s leadership, the Center has conducted more than 30 in-depth studies since 2010, with insights from more than 70,000 investors in 30+ countries. Its findings are widely featured in major global financial publications, including The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, The Financial Times, and L'Agefie.

A veteran financial writer and frequent speaker, Goodsell joined Natixis as editorial director in 2001 after serving as editorial director at Liberty Funds (now Columbia Threadneedle) and Fidelity Investments. He regularly presents the Center’s findings to financial professionals, fund selectors and private bankers in the US, Europe and Asia, and also frequently serves as an expert panelist for industry organizations.
